ROMO prepare young people for the world of work through extended partnership
In 2023, ROMO awarded IAF funding through it's Nottinghamshire Community Foundation fund in support of young people participating in the King’s Trust Team programme. The AnXiety project created significant opportunities for 34 young people to gain insight into the professional world and working alongside the IAF, ROMO facilitated workplace tours for young people on our programme and mock interviews.

These early experiences played a pivotal role in helping young people overcome their anxiety when applying for jobs and also offered them a comprehensive understanding of the variety of job roles and duties available with large employers. Our young people got to practice their interview skills, receive constructive feedback, and build confidence in a simulated but realistic setting. Since then, IAF have worked with ROMO to support more young people into work and many found the practical experiences invaluable in preparing them for real job interviews and ultimately increasing their chances of securing employment.
The partnership between IAF and ROMO exemplifies a collaborative and proactive approach to addressing youth unemployment in the area. Together, we're equipping young people with the necessary skills and experiences required in today's job market.
Giving back to the community through meaningful partnerships and fundraising initiatives holds great importance for us. Over the years, we’re incredibly proud to have supported long-term change within our local and wider communities.

Earlier this year, we also had the pleasure of inviting ROMO staff members into our Mansfield hub for a special employer showcase event. It was fantastic to see our rooms full of young people eager to hear about their career stories and we're so thankful to all of our guest speakers who spoke so honestly about their lives. We're excited to work alongside ROMO to open more doors for young people; to inspire and empower them to achieve their best and embrace the career opportunities that can be found on their doorstep.
