In anticipation of Clumber Park's 'Summer of Play' event, Worksop Team 5 spent their community project volunteering onsite to ensure the festivities are a resounding success.
As part of the Prince's Trust Team programme, young people from Bassetlaw, Bolsover and surrounding areas contributed their time and energy to various projects across the park, supporting a fantastic local initiative to bring the community together and encourage families to enjoy the heritage of the area. One of their notable contributions in the project was working on the model village and play area to offer visitors of all ages an education experience where guests can learn about the regions rich industrial heritage through the medium of play.
Whilst play may have been the theme of the week, Worksop 5 also assisted the Park's welcome and facilities services during their placement. Recognising all park-goers, even those with canine companions, our young people extended their volunteer efforts to the new Central Bark dog cafe where they helped put the finishing touches on a eagerly-awaited space for visitors and their pets to relax and unwind.
With activities spread across seven interactive play zones, a visit to the "Summer of Play" event is a must! For those living locally, or travelling to the area, discover more about the event here or pay a visit between July 27th to September 8th 2024 to check out Worksop 5's handiwork!
