: Try something new on Team
The King's Trust Team programme is a free 12 week confidence and employability course that equips young people with the skills, insight and experience to kickstart their career. Those completing the programme will receive a nationally-recognised qualification and can also boost their credentials further with free access to first aid and food hygiene training. Most importantly, Team provides young people with a chance to push outside of their comfort zone in a fun yet supported environment; proving they have what it takes to scale new heights, rise to any challenge and add value to their community.
IAF’s unique wrap around support meant that 91% of those engaged in the programme gained a nationally recognised qualification in Employment, Teamwork, and Community Skills and 81% were successful in gaining and sustaining employment, education or training.

Week 1: Meet new people
Don't worry about turning up on your own - there'll be about 12 people joining and everyone will be in the same situation. You'll start planning for the weeks ahead, setting out what you want to achieve and there'll be plenty of activities to help you settle in.

Week 2: A new adventure
You'll get away on a 4 day residential trip - trying new things and learning how to work with others. You'll try activities such as raft building, abseiling, canoeing and much more so this is often a highlight for many young people!

Weeks 3-6: Something to talk about
You'll decide on a project to benefit your local community as a team and will fundraise to carry it out. You might be surprised at what you can achieve together and this gives you great experience to talk about at interviews.

Weeks 7-8: Work placements
This is the time to see how the skills you've developed so far can help you in the workplace. It's also a great chance to try out a type of work, or company, to see whether you like it.

Week 9: Future steps
It's time to plan for your next steps after the programme. You'll get help to write a fantastic CV, practice your interview skills and make applications.

Weeks 10-11: Meet the challenge
You and your team will take on a challenge to help others in the community. This is when you get to test out all the skills you'll have worked on so far.

Week 12: Have your say
You'll deliver a presentation with your team to an invited audience of friends and family. This is your chance to show off what you've learnt and reflect on how far you've come over the past 12 weeks.
