Worksop Team 4 plant 300 trees for a greener future

Young people from Worksop Team 4 have been busy over the last few weeks and have taken a hands-on approach to environmental conservation by planting ~300 trees at Woodlands and Coachwood Green, Shireoaks. This initiative was part of their community project on the Prince’s Trust Team programme, demonstrating a commitment to creating a greener and healthier environment for future generations.

This tree-planting project aligns with a broader environmental strategy led by Nottinghamshire County Council and DEFRA’s nation-wide 'Trees for Climate' programme, aiming to increase tree coverage, enhance biodiversity, and add a regional voice to the global conversation on climate change. By participating in this tree-planting effort, our young volunteers not only contributed positively to the environment but also gained valuable teamwork and leadership skills which they will carry forward with them as they move into education, employment and training.

Here at IAF, we strongly support sustainability efforts that secure a better future for all and we are excited to witness the power of community-driven action in tackling environmental challenges. "Young people in Worksop are setting an example for others to follow" said Jaye Crew, IAF's Teaching and Delivery Manager for the Prince's Trust Team programme, "by fostering a culture of responsibility and care for nature, we're reminded that small, local actions can contribute to a significant global impact. Great work Team 4!"
